The Ajax Experience, San Francisco

by Christophe | July 12th, 2007

The Ajax Experience is a series of tech conferences initiated by Ajaxian.com co-founders Dion Almaer and Ben Galbraith. This year, they hold conferences in San Francisco from July 25 to July 27, and Boston from October 24 to October 26.

I’ll be privileged to fly 12 hours for the San Francisco edition, in order to speak at not just one, or two, but three sessions there, all tacked up on the first day (two on Prototype, one on script.aculo.us).

This is going to be a great conference, chock a-block with cool sessions that’ll cover not only our beloved Prototype, but most of the competition and many not-just-tech aspects.

Also look forward to Ryan Johnson’s Prototype patterns session.

You can see it all on the schedule.

If you happen to attend, be sure to hook up! I look forward to seeing you there.

    Christophe, hi!

I wish I could go to SF… will you have a transcript or slides of your presentations available online?

    Hey guys,

The slides will be posted online, yes. But as always with me, they’re a support for the speech, not the whole session by themselves.

They should be online even before I talk, as is the customary thing with TAE, but I got onboard really late with them, filling in for another speaker. So the slides are not even finalized yet, much less online.

As for streams, I have no idea what kind of streaming TAE has in place, and whether that’ll be available online. I sure hope so!

Ah man, wish I could have made that conference. I’m always looking for a good place to meet other programmers and hear about some of the latest and greatest software. Maybe I can make the October dates. Anyway, thanks for putting your slides and other information up on your website for everyone. That’s very helpful. I wish conferences would create a site simply to share presentations, notes, and whatever from their sessions. I think that would be very helpful for everyone involved. Sometimes I think events like this lose their focus and become all about privilege. Conferences shouldn’t just benefit those who can go to them, in my opinion, but the information exchanged should be available to everyone. I know it’s not possible to post everything that’s done (it would be a ridiculous amount of work to transcribe Q&A sessions and the like) but it would be nice to have the notes, anyway.
